DRESS CODE

Picture
All students are expected to  have the proper attire and footwear. Students will not be allowed to participate in class dressed in street clothes. Students will need more than one dance outfit and more than one pair of tights.

GIRLS
Preference for all girls is a black bodysuit, but any solid color is acceptable. Suntan tights are mandatory and please remember panties should not be worn under their tights. Girls can wear a ballet skirt, tutu or black dance shorts, in addition to their bodysuit and tights.  During the colder months a ballet sweater and ankle/leg warmers are highly suggested. When students are traveling to and from dance class, they should be wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts that are very easy to take on and off over their bodysuits and tights. Broadway Dance Sweats and Bags are available and make great gifts for the holidays!

BOYS
Boys should be dressed in black sweat or Jazz pants and a white tee shirt or sweatshirt. Please do not wear pants that are too long and please do not wear pants with pockets!

HAIR
Hair is a huge problem with both girls and boys. Hair needs to be tightly pulled back. A simple ponytail is acceptable for the younger students.  For students who are older (8 & up) a bun is necessary because when they are learning turns and leaps a ponytail hits them in the face and eyes. It hinders the learning process.  All dancers should have then following items in their bag: brush, barrettes, bobby pins, elastics, travel size deodorant. It is never too early to practice good hygiene and the importance of underarm deodorant.
